Notes

  • According to Henry's WWII draft registration, he was born in Topaz, Missouri.  Topaz is now a ghost town.

"Topaz was once a hub community in Douglas County.  Early settlers built homes and businesses around a water-powered grist mill and the town thrived for decades.  Like many mill towns, it no longer could compete with larger towns.  The mill and general store closed down.  Ed Fillmer visited Topaz with a former resident in 1988."
