Green was married before the 1860 census, and he and his wife Mary were enumerated in Cherokee County. District 2, not far from Green and Israel households.

The amount of personal estate, $309, is the same as the house number.  Likely erroneous duplication.

Two other Owens households are contiguous on this page.  A household led by the widow Harriett Owens is next door to Green, with several children.  Age would indicate a sister-in-law of Green.  Next to her on the other side (above her on the page) is one B W Owens with his wife Sarah with no children.  The census reports they have married within the last year, that is, since July 1859.  The marriage record has not been found.

There is a second memorial in Blount County with these same dates for Green A Owens.  Since what appears to be his wife was buried 10 years earlier in this same Blount County cemetery, which happens to also be called Harmony Baptist Cemetery, it seems to indicate he had moved to Walker County, probably living with one of their children, where he died.  When he was buried there, they also put up a memorial in the cemetery where his wife was buried.  This seems to account for what we know at this stage.

His wife's burial may be in the Blount County cemetery, though no one had yet linked the two.  There is a Mary A Owens, with birth date 25 July 1839, matching Mary Owens' age in the 1860 census.  But her stone is ambiguous.  It is engraved "Wife of J A Owens," but the J has an additional larger circular engraving around it that looks like a G, with the little line/tail for the G where we would expect it in a Captial G.  It appears that the stone was miscarved first with J A Owens, and they corrected it by adding the larger G to encase the erroneous J.
