Notes
- I have a memory, and my notes of a family conversation at some time (place or date uncertain), that Aunt Ouida's married name was Hill. I had no information on the name of her husband from our Terry family background. I found reference to this family in the censuses of 1920 and 1930.
In 1900 Edward is 1 year old. We learn form the 1900 census that his family are from Arkansas, but he was born in Indian Territory after the family moved there.

The 1900 census reports Edward's birth date as June 1898. The Social Security Death Index agrees with this and provides the exact day. We also learn here that Edward moved to Arizona at an age before he began working, since his Social Security number was issued in Arizona. But he returned to his home state at some time before his death.

Edward's mother died around 1906. His father remarried and the blended family is enumerated here in Arkansas, including his new half-brother Vernon (Vernin). In this sentence, Edward is enumerated under his middle name (misspelled) with the E as a middle initial.

In 1920, Edward and wife Ouida are in Fort Benning, Georgia, where he is a Sergeant in the US Army, during WWI. After the war they moved back to Oklahoma, where they are living in Hope Township of Stephens County (Marlow county seat) for the 1930 census.

The age reported does not match from 1920 to 1930 censuses. In 1920, Edward is 21 years old, a year older than his wife Ouida. This seems to fit. In 1930, the recorded age is 35, while Ouida is 30. I am following the age in the 1920 census, yielding a birth year of 1899.
